What We Believe
Our Mission
Our Vision

The Gospel: Forgiveness and Eternal Life
What
We Believe
Eagan Hills is affiliated with the Christian
and Missionary Alliance, an evangelical Christian denomination
committed to world evangelization. We affirm the beliefs
and doctrines of
the C&MA.
Our Mission: Glorifying God & Loving People
Our Mission is to fulfill the Great Commandment at Eagan Hills Church. “Jesus replied: ’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37-40). These commands call us to love God (the vertical dimension of the Christian life), and to love our neighbor (the horizontal dimension of the Christian life). We call it, “Glorifying God & Loving People.”
Our Vision: To be a Biblically Functioning Church in the Eagan area
A Biblically functioning Church is characterized by Christians that:
1. Meet regularly for worship, prayer, fellowship, service, and teaching (Acts 2:42-47).
2. Celebrate the Lord’s Supper and Baptism (1 Corinthians 11:23-32; Matthew 28:19)
3. Are governed by Elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4).
4. Care for the needs of one another (Micah 6:8; Acts 6:1-7).
5. Make disciples through spreading the Gospel locally, and to all nations (Matthew 28:18-20).
Our Values: Five Values that reveal the heart of Eagan Hills Church
1. God-Centered. From children’s ministry to adult ministry; from Sunday services to caring for our facility, our heart’s desire is to center everything we do around God and His glory. Therefore, our Sunday services are designed for our congregation to gather, pray, and worship as an audience for One—God.
2. Bible-Based. From children memorizing verses in Awana to adults studying the Bible in small groups; from people bringing their Bible’s to church to the preaching on Sunday mornings, our heart’s desire is to base everything we do on Scripture. Therefore, in our Sunday services we systematically teach through books of the Bible.
3. Kingdom-Building. From local evangelism to world missions; from making disciples to the long-term nurturing of a culturally diverse congregation, our heart’s desire is build God’s kingdom. Therefore, in our Sunday services we present the Gospel, participate as a congregation, and promote world missions.
4. Ministry-Integrity. From being who we are in ministry to serving with others on teams; from honoring the process as much as we celebrate the results, our heart’s desire is to do ministry with integrity. Therefore, in our Sunday services we seek to be authentic, relevant, and do everything with an excellence that honors God.
5. Historic–Contemporary. From showing solidarity with 2,000 years of the universal church to expressing worship in our 21st century American context; from our youth learning the Apostles Creed to them learning our denominational confession of faith, our heart’s desire is to embrace historical Christianity in our contemporary context. Therefore, in our Sunday services we seek to incorporate ancient creeds, confessions, hymns, and liturgy alongside contemporary music in our worship.
The Gospel: Forgiveness and Eternal Life
What will happen to you after you die? Many people think that if you
believe in God and try to be a good
person (i.e. follow the Ten Commandments),
you will
go
to
heaven.
But
that
is
not
what
the Bible teaches.
God is good and loving, but He is also holy and just. He must punish
wrongdoing. God will punish murderers and rapists, but He won't stop
there. He must punish every sin. Have you ever lied (even once)? Ever
stolen anything (even something small)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks
upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her
in
his heart." Ever
looked with lust?
If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own
admission you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we've only
looked at three of the Ten Commandments. How will
you do on Judgment Day? Will you be innocent or guilty? You know that
you
will
be guilty,
and end up in Hell. That's not God's will.
The wonderful
news is that God loves you and has provided a way for you to be forgiven! He
sent Jesus, His Son, to take the punishment you deserve: "God
commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for
us." Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death. God promises
everlasting life to all who confess and forsake their sins,
and trust in Jesus Christ. Please do that today. You may not have
tomorrow.
