Men & Boys Campout

Details

What is the Men & Boys Campout?

This is a weekend for men and boys to canoe, cook on the campfire, enjoy the outdoors, grow together as men, and celebrate the class of 2023 in a special way. We’ll be hiking, swimming, visiting the famous Clay Mountain, chopping firewood, and playing games late into the night. The retreat is open to all men, including boys (ages 6-18) and their male parents or mentors. Together, we travel to Camp Amnicon and stay right on Lake Superior for 3 days and 2 nights. Here is a short recap video.

Why should you sign up?

This is a special time to recognize the transition from being boys to becoming young men.  We want to come alongside parents and help build these boys into men of God.  In addition to the fun, the weekend also includes daily devotions on manhood.  These young men will also learn responsibilities that come with helping with running the camp including cooking, cleaning, and chopping wood.  The main event will be the Hammer Ceremony which is a rite of passage ceremony with their dad or male mentor.  The Hammer Ceremony is just the beginning of stages to come as these boys become equipped to serve in the Church as men of God.  We would love to have all of the 12th grade class at the retreat!
