I was brought up in a Christian home attending a small evangelical church in South Minneapolis and accepted Christ at an early age. I started attending Aspen Hills in 1992 after being recruited to sing on the Worship Team for Christmas. Sandy and I have been married for 41 years and have two daughters Rachel (35) and Jamie (32) who grew up at Eagan Hills. I became an elder and treasurer in 1994 serving for 27 years. I sang on the Worship Team for over 20 years and performed in Christmas and Easter choirs. Over the years I have taught Sunday school and VBS, participated in drama and small groups, helped with set up/tear down of seating and sound systems when we worshipped in rented facilities, helped paint the sanctuary and with maintenance projects, enjoyed men’s breakfasts, steak fry(s) and a pistol shoot (a first for me), attended Men’s Retreats at Big Sandy Camp, played on softball teams and in golf tournaments.
I was employed as an accounting manager at Honeywell for 21 years, worked for Greg Scott and then Jostens as a software programmer and owned a small business, Cornerstone Management Group, managing condominium and townhome associations. Sandy and I enjoy golfing, volleyball, traveling, hiking, the ocean, and Wordle. We just visited Jamie’s family in Asheville in January ‘22 and would like to get back to Europe to visit Rachel in London this fall. I often find myself humming or whistling old hymns and worship songs from the past. I am currently both encouraged and challenged by Jeremiah 29:11, 13: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future….You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
