Jim Krech

Elder

Growing up, I spent time working on my father’s farm and iron shop in Inver Grove Heights. Lora and I now make our home in the pasture of that farm. We are gifted with two children, Jesse (Amanda), Ashley (Brian), and 3 grand children, Teaghan, Harper, and Adler.

During my senior at the U of M in 1971, I trusted Christ as my Savior with the support of The Navigator campus ministry. In the fall of 1983, Lora and I joined several couples and started EHC.  In 1998 I resigned as an elder and became active in Search, a men’s Christian ministry. Over the years, I have lead numerous small group studies and currently facilitate an adult Sunday class.

For 50 years I worked as a structural engineer, 30 of those at my own architectural and engineering firm.   At the end of 2021, I retired. Currently, my days are spent with children and grand children; also, milling logs on my sawmill, maintaining the acreage I live on, golfing, traveling with friends, and studying the Bible.

These last years I frequently depend upon Psalm 121:1, “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”
