Interim Team Member
My family and I have been members of Eagan Hills Church (EHC) since September 1998. I have been married to Philip for 40 years last August. We have three children. Aaron is married to Ashley, and they have 6 six children ages 1 to 9 years old and attend EHC. Our daughter, Kate, is married to Kyle and they have three sons, ages 4 to 8 and they attend Hawley Alliance Church where Kyle is the Associate Pastor. They also have four heavenly babies. Both our kids met their spouses at EHC. (That is a fun story!)
We also have a daughter, Jennifer, who died at the age of 12 after being struck by lightning. That was 25 ½ years ago. Before her death Phil and I were church goers, although Phil grew up an atheist. After Jenny’s death we searched for answers about her death, but we both knew she was in heaven given the evidence we found in her room – we wanted to know how to get there ourselves. That longing drove us to begin reading the Bible, which for the first time we understood. Eventually we left our mainline church and found EHC and in October 1998 our family was baptized. Since then, we have continued to learn the Bible from Pastor Bruce and Bible studies at EHC.
I love music and serve on the EHC worship team playing keyboard and singing. I also play the guitar, piano, and enjoy playing the ukulele with our Hawaiian group – Kanikapila. I am part Hawaiian and learned hula as a teenager. Throughout my teens and early 20’s we performed all over Minnesota. Now we dance occasionally, but just for fun.
Besides church activities and music, Phil and I enjoy traveling to Hawaii, BWCA, and northern Minnesota. We also like taking long walks, bike rides, and cross-country skiing and look forward to both of us being retired.
